Creative kids Club schedule, inshaa Allaah for the Winter Conference

Friday 23rd December


1-6:00 Open Arts & Craft Session.

Kids of all ages freelancing to choose from a variety of creative activities: making play dough hats, bags, collages, together with other activities.
Parents are free to accompany younger kids (1 adult per child please)

Saturday 24th December


a) 1-2:30 Arts & Crafts
The parts of a plant and the role of the flower in pollination.
Looking at time lapse videos of blossoming flowers, appreciate the variety of flowers in Allaah’s creation.
Value the complex symbiosis between flowers and insects. Make a 3-D plant and flower.

b) 3-4:30 Baking
Earth’s Geology: Volcanoes & Lava - Our Earth isn’t as stable as it seems.
Understand the complex nature of the layers of the Earth.
Examine rocks formed because of the dynamics of these layers.
Complete the session by baking chocolate lava puddings.

c) 5-6:30 Textiles
Classify materials, and understand different fabric types and their origins.
Design and make fabric bags decorated with sequins & embroidery.

d) 7-8:30 Crafts
Eat from that which is good- appreciate the variety of food that Allaah has blessed us with.
Look at different exotic fruits, and then design & make fruit pencil holders from clay.




Sunday 25th December


a) 1-2:30 Crafts
The Amazing skeleton.
Learn about the different bones of the human body- examining 3-D skulls and assembling model skeletons.
Using Modroc, make a skeleton hand.

b) 3-4:30 Cookery
Planet ice: Baked Icebergs- A paradox
Explore the extreme climates of the Earth and its landscape.
Understand the science behind icebergs before making some to take away.

c) 5-6:30 Crafts
The origins of mosaics.
Appreciate some of the intricate designs from around the world which use this technique.
Make your own craft mirror using Mosaic tiles.

d) 7-8:30 Crafts
Learn about the different types of Earth and their uses.
Appreciate the importance of clay throughout time as an essential material, and understand its important qualities.
Make trinkets using clay.
