    Post Giving zakat to someone who owes you money?

    If you borrow money to a relative who is:

    - unemployed
    - in debt
    - quite possibly classed as 'miskeen' (in reference to the conditions of whom qualifies for zakat)

    Then can you clear that debt and declare it as zakat given to that person?
