- Missed fasts must be made up for before the next Ramadan (www.alIfta.org)
"Everyone who has days to make up from previous Ramadan has to make up for those days before the next Ramadan. They may delay making up for them until Sha‘ban, but if the next Ramadan comes and they still have not made up for those days, without an excuse, they are considered sinful for that. They should make up for these days later and also feed a needy person for each missed day. ..." (please click the title for more explanation in the full article)- Deeds are Presented to Allah during Sha'ban (Translated by brother Abu Aaliyah Abdullah ibn Dwight on SalafiTalk.net - please see the source for the scholars' grading & explanation of this hadeeth.):
Hadeeth: Usamah ibn Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I asked the messenger of Allah a question. I asked why do you fast in Sha'ban more than any other month?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) replied saying; "People are negligent between Rajab and Ramadan. During Sha'baan the deeds are presented to the Lord of all the worlds. Therefore I desire to be fasting when my deeds are lifted."- Fasting much in Sha`ban (www.alIfta.org)
... This also applies to fasting the first half of Sha‘ban. It is also an act of Sunnah to observe Sawm the whole of this month, or most of it. As for dedicating the middle of Sha‘ban for Sawm, it is Makruh (reprehensible) and groundless. ... (Also see: Reconciling between the Hadith: "When Sha'baan is halfway through, do not fast" and the Hadith: "The most preferred month for him was Sha`ban and he joined it with Ramadan" by Shaykh ibn Baaz in the 6th post in this thread.)- Forgiveness On the 15th Night of Sha'ban (Shaykh al-Albaanee, trans: Bro. Moosaa Richardson on SalafiTalk.Net):
[Please see the above source for Shaykh al-Albaanee's - rahimahullaah - comments on this hadeeth (translated by Bro. Moosaa Richardson). Also see the explanation of Haafidh Ibn Rajab - may Allah have mercy upon him - translated by brother Abu Aaliyah Abdullah ibn Dwight on SalafiTalk.net (it's the 3rd post in the thread).]Hadeeth: "Allaah, the Blessed and Exalted, comes to His Creation on Laylatun-Nisf (the 15th night) of Sha'baan, and He forgives all of His Creation, except for the polytheist and the mushaahin".
BUT"The authenticity of this hadeeth does not necessitate taking this night as an occasion to gather with the people and perform acts of innovation like those the author mentioned…""There is not any authentic evidence that supports making a special Du‘a’ or act of worship on the fifteenth night of Sha‘ban. So specifying it (the 15th night) for this is a Bid‘ah (innovation in religion), because the Prophet (may Allah raise his rank and grant him peace) said: "Every newly introduced matter is a Bid‘ah and every Bid‘ah is a Dalalah (deviation from what is right)."
