Beware of Oppressing the non-Muslims, by Shaikh al-'Uthaimeen (http://storage.albaseerah.com/articles/alb000014.pdf)---> http://storage.albaseerah.com/articles/alb000014.pdf

Islaam strongly condemns every facet of terrorism regardless of what the people might call it

Allaah, the Most High, said (what means): And do not kill those souls whom Allaah has prohibited, except with a due right. (Al-Isra 17:33)

And those souls that Allaah has prohibited, it is referring to the life of a Muslim. And it is referring to everyone who has an agreement with the Muslims, and likewise those non-Muslims who have been given the right of safety by the Muslims.

The Messenger (salallahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said in an authentic hadeeth reported by Imaam al-Bukhaari: Whoever kills a non-Muslim who has an agreement with the Muslims, then he will not smell the fragrance of Paradise.

And this is a severe threat. That the Messenger of Allaah - Muhammad (salallahu 'alayhi wa sallam) - threatened those people and he promised those who kill non-Muslims, after an agreement has reached between them, that they will not enter Paradise on the Day of Judgement. And by this hadeeth, if it is committed by a Muslim, they have opposed the Book of Allaah and they have opposed the Sunnah of the Messenger.

According to Shaykh 'Abdul 'Azeez Ibn Baaz (rahimahullaah), "…Terrorism is to transgress upon people by way of unjustly striking or killing them, with no proof (to justify these actions); rather (these actions are committed) upon ignorance and dearth of insight; they are the terrorists who kill people unjustly, without any evidence from the Sharee'ah (Islaamic Law). Thus, they change people's (state of) security, and they cause problems between them and between their countries; those are the terrorists." [Taken from Islaam.ca]

So it must be understood that Islaam strongly condemns every facet of terrorism regardless of what the people might call it.

Treaty with non-Muslims
Killing a Mu'aahad is prohibited.

'Abdullaah ibn 'Amr (radiallaahu 'anhu) narrated that the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihiwasallam) stated: Whoever kills a [I]mu'aahad (non-Muslim who has a peace treaty with Muslims) will not smell the fragrance of Jannah, and verily its fragrance can be smelled from a distance of 40 years.

The next prohibition is being dubious concerning them, double-crossing them, deceiving them, betraying them since this betrayal is something that is prohibited - even toward the kufaar.

Imam Muslim collected a hadith on the authority of Hudhaifa bin Yaman (radiallaahu 'anhu) that he stated, "There is nothing that prevented me from witnessing the Battling of Badr except that I and Abu Hafeedh went out and we were taken by the Quraish, so they said: 'It's Muhammad that you want.' So we said: 'We don't want him; we just want to go to Madinah.' So then they took a covenant with us, by Allaah, that we will only go to Madinah and that we will not fight alongside him (salallaahu 'alaihiwasallam). So we went to the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihiwasallam) and he said: 'The two of you have to go; you can't fight.'[B]"

It was prohibited for them, due to the agreement that they made. And in another narration, they were prohibited from doing so because of the contractual agreement they made.

So whoever enters the land according to the law of that land, they are protected by that. So it is not permissible to betray them and to deceive them.

It is also impermissible to oppress the non-Muslims, and impermissible to take their wealth. Rather, even the kaafir who has been oppressed may have his supplication answered concerning the one who oppressed him - even if the one who oppressed him was a Muslim. As has been recorded by Bukhaaree and Muslim (rahimahumullaah) on the authority of Ibn 'Abbaas (radiallaahu 'anhumma) that the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihiwasallam) stated: "Fear the supplication of the one who is oppressed. For surely, between him and Allaah, there is no veil."

Scholars: Errors in Manhaj Follow Errors in 'Aqeedah

Shaikh Muhammad ibn Salih al-'Uthaimeen (rahimahullaah Ta'aala) said (http://www.manhaj.com/manhaj/articles/xyzse-shaykh-ibn-uthaymeen-errors-in-manhaj-occur-due-to-underlying-errors-in-aqidah.cfm): "...and when a person takes a manhaj that opposes the manhaj of the Messenger (alayhis salaatu was salaam), and his rightly-guided Caliphs, then its meaning is that his aqeedah is not sound. Otherwise, when the aqeedah is sound, the manhaj too will be sound." -----> http://www.manhaj.com/manhaj/articles/xyzse-shaykh-ibn-uthaymeen-errors-in-manhaj-occur-due-to-underlying-errors-in-aqidah.cfm (http://www.manhaj.com/manhaj/articles/xyzse-shaykh-ibn-uthaymeen-errors-in-manhaj-occur-due-to-underlying-errors-in-aqidah.cfm)

Shaikh 'Ubaid al-Jaabiree (hafidhahullaah Ta'aala) said (http://www.manhaj.com/manhaj/articles/otddj-shaykh-ubayd-al-jaabiree-on-differentiating-between-aqidah-and-manhaj.cfm): "And Islaam is brought together (composed) of these two, (a) the soundness, correctness in aqeedah, and (b) the soundness and safety in manhaj. Therefore, one of them cannot be separated from the other.

The person whose manhaj is corrupt, have trust that this follows on from the corruption in his aqeedah. When the aqeedah is upright, in the correct way, then the manhaj will also be upright.

For the manhaj of the Khawaarij became corrupt because of the corruption in their aqeedah. They held the belief of the lawfulness of the blood of those who commit major sins, and thus they permitted fighting and killing them and revolting against the sinful disobedient rulers. They made lawful the taking of blood and wealth. It is for this reason that it was said "They are disbelievers" by whoever said this from the people of knowledge (i.e. because they, the khawaarij made lawful what Allaah made unlawful, the taking of the blood of a Muslim upon other than a due right)." ------> http://www.manhaj.com/manhaj/articles/otddj-shaykh-ubayd-al-jaabiree-on-differentiating-between-aqidah-and-manhaj.cfm (http://www.manhaj.com/manhaj/articles/otddj-shaykh-ubayd-al-jaabiree-on-differentiating-between-aqidah-and-manhaj.cfm)
