I have been shown a mistake in the translation [printed 1997] page 157 line 8-9.
It says, "Making duaa to Allaah alongside graves and asking the dead to ask Allah."
It should say, "Making duaa to Allaah alongside graves and asking Allaah through the lofty rank of the dead."
It means that some people pray beside the grave thinking their supplication is more likely to be answered, just because they are near someone who used to be 'close to Allaah'. They do not invoke the dead.
I don't have a copy of the second edition. i think its the same paging.
