As for accommodations in Columbus, Ohio [from a brother in Columbus]:

The link below is a cluster of Hotels on Zumstein Dr.

I have found Baymont Inn and Suites to be the best option for a family.

The cluster of hotel has a variety of options ranging from single rooms to Studio apartments with small kitchen. Please check a few of them online or call them.

The sooner you make your reservation, the cheaper the rate.

The hotel cluster is right next to a shopping center, fast food restaurants, and a full supermarket. The distance from the masjid to that cluster is about 7 miles/ 15 minutes. http://goo.gl/maps/RXns

There are also more hotels nearby.

Another area that is closer to the masjid and has some hotels nearby is on Sinclair Rd. http://goo.gl/maps/0VRP

Keep in mind that there is a major construction project in down town Columbus. If you decide to book a room downtown, plan your route on local streets away from the highway construction project. One recommended route is taking Broad st or any parallel street to Cleveland ave.

Options for Halal restaurants, coffee shops, and markets. Searching maps for Cleveland ave, and searching nearby for Somali and Halal gives the following results.
